We had an awesome Three Rank Day on January 19th with 27 Brethren from five lodges gathering to help initiate three young men into the Order. We take this opportunity to once again say WELCOME to new Crescens Lodge Knights CHRIS LEWIS, JOSH SROUFE and DARYL SHANNON! We are honored to have you as members of the Knights of Pythias and Crescens Lodge! It takes a team to get the job done and we have the BEST team around! Congratulations for a job WELL DONE!!! If you weren’t part of the action, JOIN THE TEAM! Come to lodge and get involved! It was a STUPENDOUS day!!….. We are planning for the Rathbone Celebration at Brownstown Lodge #60 on February 16th. The Grand Council will meet at 10:30 am followed by the Ranks beginning at 12 noon. The Rathbone Bible will be there for all obligations and re-obligations…….Crescens Lodge is planning our 2nd Annual TABLE LODGE on Tuesday, FEBRUARY 26th! It starts off with lodge opening at 7:00 pm and will feature a lasagna dinner. We will also be doing special presentations and toasts. This is an absolute MUST ATTEND meeting….for Knights only! If you are coming from out of town, a phone call or e-mail of the number attending would be helpful so we can prepare properly…… Our Brothers of Brotherhood Lodge #3-5-7 will be meeting in the Crescens Castle on Friday, February 29th for the installation of Officers. It will be proceeded by a chili supper at 6:30 pm.. It is hoped all Knights will come and support this lodge as they attend to re-structure…….On March 18th Crescens Lodge will have an open meeting as we judge the poster contest. We hope you will attend this 7:00 pm event!……The following week, on Tuesday, MARCH 25TH, Crescens Lodge will again confer the rank of the “Rusty Spike”. We will have a dinner at 6:00 pm and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!! We need the names of attendees so we can have your certificate printed to hand out that night. It is a great night to learn more about the Pythian Order!….. We still meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm and WE NEED YOU and YOUR IMPUT! … and If you are not current with your dues, why not pay today! We do not want you to become a casualty of non-payment! It only costs 6 cents a day to be a Pythian! We NEED and WANT your membership! Know the password? Know the signs? Come to lodge! We will get you refreshed and caught up! We would love to have YOUR input on what you would like to see YOUR lodge doing! We will be dark during February because of the winter weather. We meet again March 26th for our Officer installation. April 19th is District Convention and Venus Temple is the Hostess. Hope to see you at our next meeting. Don’t forget to send in your 2008 dues of $10.00. Dokey Dope - Your Dokey Temple will be meeting in New Castle on February 25th and will have a pancake & sausage supper in the kitchen. We will eat at 6:00 pm followed by the meeting at 7:00 pm. We have several Tyros signed up for a Spring Ceremonial. If you are interested in joining the Dramatic Order, talk to a Dokey in your lodge and they will get you an application. Cost is $85.00 with a fez. We do take payments! A ceremonial will probably be scheduled for late April on Sunday. Nomad News - Please try to support your Santha meetings held in Muncie at Welcome Lodge hall generally on the first Sunday of the month beginning in March.. Sympathy - Our deepest sympathy goes out to our Brothers at Ashley lodge #394 on the passing of PDDGC Paul Kitchen on December 31st and PC Lynn Dunn on January 5th. These two very faithful Brothers will be missed by all of us. May God be with the families and friends in this time of grief. If you know of someone who is ill, please notify us at 765-533-4287 and report it. Thanks! Building Usage Update - Things continue to develop at the Crescens Castle. It appears that Young Life Youth Ministries will be moved out and be re-modeled by the end of February, which is the expiration of their rental agreement. At that time, if things work out as they are now planned, the Grand Lodge Office may assume the western compartment of the downstairs. This will happen with no changes being made to the address, rental package or anything associated with the Grand Lodge Office operation. It can actually be accomplished over a weekend with no disruption to the operation of the Grand Lodge office. ‘Tis the Season’s business and Sherry’s Florals had a great year in 2007 and are looking to expand into both the center and east compartments of 1206 Broad Street. This will result in an exciting change with the opportunity to expand the stock available to the public and at the same time give Sherry the room she needs for her growing floral business. This hopefully will be totally accomplished by mid April. ‘TIS THE SEASON AND SHERRY’S FLOWERS - As we look at expanding into more of the building, we will have more unique gifts and more awesome florals for you to choose from. You will not want to miss our expansion open house! It should be around April 15th. Don’t forget those Memorial Day saddles this year. They, of course, are available all year round with over 60 to choose from anytime. Pythians always get a discount too!
